Quick thoughts about the Apple TV

So I went out and bought a second Apple TV for another TV in the house.  I have to admit I am liking it.  I guess I was one of the few who liked it before the latest software upgrade came out.  It made for a great way to play music while entertaining.  The latest version really brings everything together.  I still would like to see more features other then movies, music and photos.  I wouldn't mind seeing Apple integrate the widget platform.  Can't you imagine having a screensaver that displays the latest weather, scores, and stocks.  I was never a fan of browsing on my TV, but having small snippets of information displayed would be cool.  I find myself changing the way I browse these days.  For example, I rarely leave my google reader home page.  I find all my information these days in feeds, digg or even twitter.  I like keeping my information on "slow drip" all day.  One thing that Apple has nicely done (with help from Google) is provide services and platforms to drive information.  That's why I still believe they will release a tablet style device.  Before the Macbook Air was announced, the rumor was that Apple was planning to release a larger version of the iPhone.  A device with the same form factor except larger and would basically act as an appliance.  So having more information driven to the Apple TV is a good idea.  If done right, it would be even cooler.
